Construction of the mid-term strategy of a leader in the purchase and resale of refurbished terminals, and the associated financial trajectory

eleven’s strategy consultants assisted a French leader in the circular economy, specialized in the purchase and resale of refurbished cell phones, in the construction of its mid-term strategy.

Indeed, in less than five years, the competitive field of the refurbishing activity has grown considerably, with an increased globalization of exchanges and the appearance of marketplaces such as BackMarket. As a result, barriers to entry have been lowered, allowing new players with aggressive commercial practices to enter the market.

In this context, eleven first carried out a series of analyses, both internal (price-mix-volume analysis of the margins generated) and external (market analysis and benchmark) in order to factualize these findings. eleven’s consultants then helped Recommerce’s teams to select and structure 13 transformation projects, which were consolidated into a new strategic plan. This plan, as well as the associated financial trajectory, was then presented to the group’s shareholders and supervisory board.

This mission led to the conclusion of an exclusive partnership between eleven and CircularX, Recommerce’s subsidiary dedicated to the commercialization of turnkey solutions for circular economy projects in retail.
