Maximising value through data exploitation

Implementing a data exploitation strategy is an essential step to allowing a group to structure itself and maximise the value created by data science.

This structuring depends on four key success factors:

1. The analysis of existing technological & IT foundations in order to be able to rely on an operational data processing chain,
2. The definition of an organisational culture to define the roles, means and modes of interaction between the different actors involved in exploiting the data,
3. The implementation of data governance to allow each stakeholder to be responsible for the quality of the existing data within the organisation,
4. Taking into account the industrialisation process to remove organisational, technical and cultural obstacles to the transition to industrialisation.

Once the pillars of the group’s data exploitation strategy have been consolidated, value maximisation comes from identifying the most value-creating use cases.

Finally, these cases must be prioritised in an actionable roadmap in line with the organisation’s overall strategy. It must also take into account the constraints in terms of skills and resource availability of the teams making up the data platform supporting its development.
